Paul Drexler is the author of Murder to Movies which will be published in January 2026 by Genius Books. His new book tells the real story behind fifteen famous crimes and the movies they inspired.
Paul worked with the late Kevin Mullen, retired Deputy Chief of the San Francisco Police Department to develop Crooks Tour of San Francisco, a walking tour of Chinatown and the Barbary Coast.
He is also the author of Notorious San Francisco: True Tales of Crime, Passion and Murder, and has been a true crime columnist for The San Francisco Examiner. In 2017 Drexler received the Oscar Lewis Award from the San Francisco History Association for his writing on San Francisco.
