Vote for Change: A Midterm Message from David McClam
In this short, unscripted solo episode of True Crime, Authors and Extraordinary People, David McClam steps away from the usual true-crime format for a personal conversation about voting, everyday life, and why he believes sitting out an election is never the answer.
David is back behind the microphone after taking some time away to recover, and he is also using this audio-only episode to test his new studio setup before returning to video.
There is another reason this episode is special: November 1 is David’s 54th birthday.
And this year, he says the best birthday gift anyone can give him is simple:
Vote.
With the midterm elections taking place Tuesday, November 3, David speaks directly to people who believe their vote does not matter.
He explains that while he is registered as a Democrat, he does not believe party affiliation should automatically determine anyone’s vote. He discusses his own voting history, including times when he has supported Republican and Democratic candidates based on the issues, circumstances, and what he believed was best for the country at that moment.
Rather than telling listeners who to vote for, David asks them to look at their own lives.
Can you afford groceries?
Can you put gas in your vehicle?
Can you afford childcare?
Are you financially better off than you were two years ago?
Are the promises made by elected leaders matching the reality you experience every day?
Drawing on his years as a truck driver and his continued experience as a Class A license holder, David also discusses diesel prices, transportation costs, grocery prices, and how heavily the American economy depends on trucks continuing to move.
The conversation also turns to SNAP and other forms of public assistance. David pushes back against the idea that everyone receiving assistance is lazy, pointing out that many recipients work and pay taxes themselves. At the same time, he believes abuse of assistance programs should be addressed and discusses work requirements and programs that provide food to children during the summer months.
David also talks about checks and balances in government and why he believes Congress should be willing to challenge the president regardless of which political party occupies the White House.
His message is not to vote Republican.
It is not to vote Democrat.
It is to look at your ballot, research the candidates and propositions in front of you, examine your own circumstances, and vote.
Vote for the people you believe will make things better.
Vote for accountability.
Vote for change when you believe change is necessary.
And remember what David calls “the one race that matters: the human race.”

0:51 [SPEAKER_01]: It is a suicide prevention hotline that can get you the help that you need. [SPEAKER_01]: And in case no one else has told you this today, let me be the first to tell you that I do care and I do need you to be here. [SPEAKER_01]: There is nothing worth your or anyone else's life. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, guys, I just want to come real quick. [SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been a minute, but as I tell you, I'm still recovering coming back. [SPEAKER_01]: Then I had to do a whole lot of audio changes. [SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully I still sound as good. [SPEAKER_01]: I switch interfaces in the whole nine. [SPEAKER_01]: So I want to come to you guys today. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you aren't watching this on YouTube, there is no video on purpose. [SPEAKER_01]: Because that's what the coming to do this quick one and also test out the new audio things before I go back to adding videos.
1:34 [SPEAKER_01]: So I make sure everything is working the way that it should. [SPEAKER_01]: No scripts today, no agenda, I just want to come and have a talk with you guys about something that is extremely important, especially now. [SPEAKER_01]: And that is that Tuesday, the third of November is voting day. [SPEAKER_01]: It is the midterms, and this is where we decide, depending on your state, a lot of different races, who we're sending back to Congress, and who will control the house and the Senate. [SPEAKER_01]: For some, this is the vote that we've all been waiting for. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a political channel so I'm not going to try to get all exapolitical because that's not what I do here but it is important that I use my platform to tell you guys to go out and vote.
2:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Especially those who feel like voting is useless and that they don't have a voice and it does not matter. [SPEAKER_01]: So by the time you hear this, it would be my birthday. [SPEAKER_01]: November 1st is my birthday. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be 54 years old. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you want to give me a birthday gift, just make sure you go out and you vote. [SPEAKER_01]: The reason that this is important is it's not about who you vote for if you're Republican or Democrat. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we'd be young that. [SPEAKER_01]: I think what this is about is being human, surviving, can we put food on the table?
3:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Is your gas low enough to get you what you need to go? [SPEAKER_01]: has the current administration did everything that was promised. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you better off now than you were two years ago? [SPEAKER_01]: This is what this question is about. [SPEAKER_01]: I know for many years and decades and everybody who's following me knows what my position is and why I stand on politics as far as the current administration has always been Republicans versus Democrat. [SPEAKER_01]: The way I've always voted hasn't really been Republican or Democrat, even though on my voting profile is listed that I'm a Democrat. [SPEAKER_01]: Now a few years ago, I tried this wish that to independent.
3:45 [SPEAKER_01]: But the reason why that didn't happen was there are so much confusion around how this was supposed to work. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you're independent, you can't vote for this. [SPEAKER_01]: And you can't vote for dad. [SPEAKER_01]: And you have to vote for these people. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, you know what, I'm just going to leave it where it is. [SPEAKER_01]: And I still have the freedom in the choice to vote for who it is. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to vote for. [SPEAKER_01]: So there has been certain years where I haven't voted [SPEAKER_01]: I'll give you one. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a long time ago, but back when George W was in office. [SPEAKER_01]: I let him finish out his turn. [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't particularly fond of the job that he did.
4:26 [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people on both sides of the aisle feel like they he messed up certain things. [SPEAKER_01]: And I said, while throw somebody else into this mess, let's let George W. go back in office, finish, where he started, and let's see if he can make things better. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's already begun this. [SPEAKER_01]: He knows where he needs to finish. [SPEAKER_01]: So let him do that. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to be public in that year. [SPEAKER_01]: The fact of the reason why I did that is because I felt like that he didn't do very good in office. [SPEAKER_01]: I think there was things that he promised that he didn't deliver. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that there was things that was made a little bit worse because George W was an office. [SPEAKER_01]: Had nothing to do with the fact that he was probably going to Democrat, had to do what I felt like he did as president.
5:11 [SPEAKER_01]: So. [SPEAKER_01]: I felt like against his running make that year and the things he was saying, let's let George go back and finish what he started did. [SPEAKER_01]: If he says that he still have more work to be done in four years, wouldn't enough, okay, we can afford you another four years to go back in and fix that. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I did. [SPEAKER_01]: And I want to clear this up because everybody in the world has stated, and yes, I'm sorry, if people disagree with me, they do. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the Barack Obama is one of the best presidents we've ever had. [SPEAKER_01]: That man told you from the time he was inaugurated to the time he left. [SPEAKER_01]: He said he wasn't perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: He said there's a lot of things that he'd be fixed.
5:52 [SPEAKER_01]: He said that he didn't know if he can do them in four years. [SPEAKER_01]: He said, heck, I don't even know why I could do it in eight. [SPEAKER_01]: But he said it takes all of us to do this and to make this right. [SPEAKER_01]: And what I want to clear up is everybody has stated that every black person in the world voted for Barack Obama because Barack Obama was black. [SPEAKER_01]: I asked not why, voted for Barack Obama. [SPEAKER_01]: a wonderful baroque because when he was running for his first term, he told us and said things that he wanted to do that job, the what I wanted to see America do. [SPEAKER_01]: He told us that no matter what color we was, we could all come together and we could all fix America's problems.
6:36 [SPEAKER_01]: As far as what I was sitting, [SPEAKER_01]: He never made promises like I'm gonna walk in and by the time I'm done in four years all of this is gonna be done I feel like he was a very realistic candidate. [SPEAKER_01]: I felt that he knew the problems of America was facing I felt that he knew the problems that he was inheriting with the America [SPEAKER_01]: And he never told us, I promise all this is going to be done. [SPEAKER_01]: He said, this is what I can do. [SPEAKER_01]: This is what we can do. [SPEAKER_01]: And I may not even have the solution in four years, or even eight. [SPEAKER_01]: But yes, we can. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I voted for Barack Obama. [SPEAKER_01]: not because the color of his skin make no doubt about it. [SPEAKER_01]: It was historic vote.
7:16 [SPEAKER_01]: When I cast a vote for him and for Joe Biden as vice president, it was the historic vote. [SPEAKER_01]: A vote that we would never ever see again until we elect a woman whether she's white or black. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's not the reason why I voted for that. [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't for being historic. [SPEAKER_01]: It was for giving America what I thought American needed. [SPEAKER_01]: Now we're back at that again. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna give you just some little facts from what I've seen, what I've heard, what I've read and what's been going on since this administration has been there. [SPEAKER_01]: I have never seen an administration before that has come up and regretted voting their candidate in.
7:57 [SPEAKER_01]: If you've been paying attention over the last two years, that's exactly what you have at our continuing to see. [SPEAKER_01]: I watched a video today from a girl who is a Republican who went to the rally that was held in Georgia, which was Barack Obama. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was all soft that he was there for and Kisha Lance Bottoms and she released this video about how she went to this rally. [SPEAKER_01]: And at this rally that she was at, she never felt so alive and she was ashamed that she helped usher in what was happening in America today.
8:39 [SPEAKER_01]: And I started doing more digging because she ain't the only one over two years. [SPEAKER_01]: As you would say, as I can never vote for Trump again, I made a mistake of one for Trump. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why I did that. [SPEAKER_01]: I have never seen such a decline in a candidate. [SPEAKER_01]: If the people that voted someone in office, they were so strong about voting this person in office. [SPEAKER_01]: They guaranteed free butts or said a new that this person was gonna do the job that he or she was supposed to do. [SPEAKER_01]: So when they voted Trump in, if you look back two years ago, everybody was happy, people was golden, people was even sending me racist things.
9:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I had somebody see me thinking, [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not kidding. [SPEAKER_01]: This is what we was ushering in. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I saw a video saying, how come blind people ain't doing that? [SPEAKER_01]: And then they just sit back when the trouble started about a year and a half later. [SPEAKER_01]: No, we already tried to tell everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't feel like it was all fighting anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: We tried to warn everybody in the free world what was going to take place if we voted a certain person in office. [SPEAKER_01]: Nobody listens to that. [SPEAKER_01]: So even though we suffered too, we felt like it was more instrumental to just sit back. [SPEAKER_01]: This wasn't our fight. [SPEAKER_01]: We made this worse. [SPEAKER_01]: If you guys was a ping attention do about the whole year, wherever anyone in black showed up, some happen or rest took place, riots, whatever, right?
10:09 [SPEAKER_01]: So we figured that is just better for us to stay out of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Let everybody else fight it. [SPEAKER_01]: But I've never seen a candidate, no matter who it is, Democratic, Republican, out of all of the presidents that we've had, out of all of the controversies that we've seen, I'll give you one that's probably more recent to a lot of people than anything else. [SPEAKER_01]: He's 80 now, but Clinton. [SPEAKER_01]: That was a big controversy right, Clinton with Monica and the whole nine and I never had accepted this moment, but even after all of that, even after he came out that there was evidence and dresses and all this stuff, still Bill Clinton did not face what is happening in the current administration.
10:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he had a few people that turned on him, but a whole entire party didn't turn on him. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody that voted for him didn't say, well, he's doing [SPEAKER_01]: week out of go. [SPEAKER_01]: I read come as like, man, we could have knocked this out in five minutes. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't need George Judy for this. [SPEAKER_01]: Then I read other come as I said, he's president Clinton, not Mazaraji Clinton, not Pastor Clinton. [SPEAKER_01]: These are the things he was reading, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So there was pretty much saying, even though it was wrong, he's not held to that stand in as far [SPEAKER_01]: I think that he is hail to a higher standard. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that he should not be having these kind of relations in office, especially being the fact that he's married, but he ate the only president that got caught up in some type of a scandal or sexual scandal or an affair.
11:48 [SPEAKER_01]: He probably won't be the last, but I'll go back and say you never heard none of this stuff [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, you saw him with Michelle, you saw him drop what he had to do to go pick up his wife. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there was a lot of things that was going on. [SPEAKER_01]: But I've never seen again a president to candidate who was elected, have his whole party term. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, here's what I want to say to all of you. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not speaking to a Republican or Democrat. [SPEAKER_01]: If you are that dark heart of a Republican, [SPEAKER_01]: that you just got to vote, we'd probably get any ways regardless of what's happening and you see the destruction that's affecting you, then maybe what I'm about to say is not for you.
12:37 [SPEAKER_01]: But for everybody else, I want you to hear what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_01]: Forget about being democratic, forget about being Republican, forget about being white, black, Hispanic, Asian, whatever you are, forget about the demographic you sit in. [SPEAKER_01]: that matters, that's the human race. [SPEAKER_01]: And now I want you to turn around and look at what's happening in the world right now and answer this one question. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you happy? [SPEAKER_01]: Is it easy for you to put food on the table?
13:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Is it cheap for you to go get gas to drive five or ten miles away to work? [SPEAKER_01]: is your daycare bill where it should be, has inflation hit you. [SPEAKER_01]: If you are farmer, has your crops produced what it should and are you getting the money that you need to get? [SPEAKER_01]: These are the human questions. [SPEAKER_01]: Will we be able to eat in another six months? [SPEAKER_01]: Let me tell you what that's going. [SPEAKER_01]: You have truck drivers all over the world now that saying that they may have to go on a so vacation. [SPEAKER_01]: They came to four to work because diesel is five dollars plus gas down here in California depending on what you go, the last time I filled up here in Palmdale, I think it was six thirty a gallon.
14:12 [SPEAKER_01]: So now when your food trains, what we call, we call them road trains, I am an X 18 wheel truck driver. [SPEAKER_01]: I still carry a class A license to this day. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you, if the trucks stop moving, we stop eating. [SPEAKER_01]: And I've already seen the reduction just in my stores alone. [SPEAKER_01]: I walked in the dollar tree the other day, they went to pick up some cheap zip ties. [SPEAKER_01]: And when I walked in with this other people, they said, man, it's like, they're going out of business. [SPEAKER_01]: People, we had racks in the back that was empty. [SPEAKER_01]: There was no zip ties there, because all the awesome crafts had been the mollers and empty shelves, food racks that usually packed hot with everything was empty.
14:56 [SPEAKER_01]: So I ask them, man, you guys don't have any zip ties. [SPEAKER_01]: What's going on there to share with y'all? [SPEAKER_01]: Closing or something like as a joke, and they're like, nah, the trucks just didn't came in. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of our suppliers are saying that it's too expensive to work. [SPEAKER_01]: So I want you to think about that in six months. [SPEAKER_01]: Yo, big grocery stores, no matter where you live. [SPEAKER_01]: Albracens, crowgur, high V, if you're in the South, pickly, wiggly, all those stores may not have any food because diesel is too hot. [SPEAKER_01]: What about the cost of food? [SPEAKER_01]: How much is it costing you just to get a pound of hamburger? [SPEAKER_01]: If I go to the right store down here, a pound is starting at $67.00 a pound.
15:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Did I want to get a family pack of ground beef? [SPEAKER_01]: That's going to raise me anywhere from 20 to $45.00 very family-pat. [SPEAKER_01]: Can you afford to have this administration go on and still eat? [SPEAKER_01]: Everything else is going on, medication, welfare, and when I mean welfare, I mean snap. [SPEAKER_01]: What about the people that depend on snap? [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I'm gonna tell you just from the experience. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody that sitting around getting snap right now, it ain't had none to do with them be lazy. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of things that happen in circumstances that takes place that forces the proudest person to have to call up their will for officers say, man, look, I need some help.
16:25 [SPEAKER_01]: I need to go on snap benefits. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me just give you some unjustly being fired as one of them. [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of face that. [SPEAKER_01]: How about the job market is dry? [SPEAKER_01]: The administration we have now promised all these jobs. [SPEAKER_01]: Job market is dry. [SPEAKER_01]: The unemployment weight is the highest that it's ever been. [SPEAKER_01]: Especially among African and Americanism minorities. [SPEAKER_01]: How about the people that's been laid off with nothing inside of them going back to work? [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody that's on welfare is not lazy. [SPEAKER_01]: And the way I look at it is this. [SPEAKER_01]: You paid into it. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody who's working, every American, I can talk here and we're just feeding these people who is too lazy and my tax dollars.
17:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever thought about the person that's receiving us not benefits? [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe working or may have worked? [SPEAKER_01]: What about the people that's getting not benefits but they just need a little help because they don't have enough money from their job to pay for their rent and their lights and their gas and still eat. [SPEAKER_01]: See, it ain't those people that don't have a job. [SPEAKER_01]: There's millions of people that have a job part time of full time that they just can't make it and they ask for help with food. [SPEAKER_01]: So when you sit back and go, I'm tired of paying for these people because my tax dollars so is theirs. [SPEAKER_01]: Every time I get a paycheck, if you look at your taxes, I'm paying into welfare, I'm paying into Medicaid, I'm paying into social security.
17:57 [SPEAKER_01]: So you ain't the only one, even the people that is working, and still get aid is also paying for them to eat. [SPEAKER_01]: As the American is still sitting back going, I'm tired of paying for people, you should say what I say. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, man, those people must need to help. [SPEAKER_01]: One day, this could be me. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, don't get me wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of people to take advantage of this system. [SPEAKER_01]: I've seen people growing up in ethical leads and they're dressed in food booing. [SPEAKER_01]: They live out with they have and they roll it out with $23,000. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, wait, wait, wait, wait, [SPEAKER_01]: brought back here driving like a $100,000 vehicle.
18:39 [SPEAKER_01]: He's dredged in at least $2,000 worth of clothes. [SPEAKER_01]: What do you mean that dating side is that you can have a full stamp? [SPEAKER_01]: I have a friend that actually works for the AD department here and I asked them, what he said. [SPEAKER_01]: He said, well, we can't do nothing about people who [SPEAKER_01]: At least it's probably more than one vehicle, so you're telling me that if a person is leasing a vehicle worth $100,000, let's say they paying $5,700 a month to lease this vehicle, y'all can deny them, because they're leasing, but you can deny a person who's driving the same vehicle who's only paying the same amount.
19:25 [SPEAKER_01]: current administration has is putting an end to all of that or trying to there's already been hundreds of thousands of people already affected by it. [SPEAKER_01]: They tried to put work parameters in play now I'm not going to say I'm 100% against that. [SPEAKER_01]: If you can go get a job and get that I'm all for that. [SPEAKER_01]: Now you have to look at the reversal of that though. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the way that Snap Benefits works all over the globe is, you have to fall up underneath a certain threshold of money that you can make a month and still claim benefits. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what those are, but let's just be happy to go. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's say for family of three people that your threshold is $3,000.
20:08 [SPEAKER_01]: That means that you cannot make more than $3,000 in any given month. [SPEAKER_01]: you can get a. [SPEAKER_01]: So that means that everybody says they want to put these work memories in here and everybody is able to get food stamps if you follow beneath the threshold because the requirement is that you have to be working to get it. [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't like that before. [SPEAKER_01]: it was it was always like you working or not working didn't there was no work parameters there's nothing there okay so since if you were able body yes people need to go get jobs I agree with you there's a lot of one youtube that's crying because they're snap and they're section eight and they're medicale has been taken because they [SPEAKER_01]: They telling people, man, I ain't worked in 17 years.
21:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I believe in off the state, man, I only pay $100 a month for my rent. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm getting $900 in food stamps. [SPEAKER_01]: Why I got to get a job? [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, those people need to be got. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm sitting back going, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm out here busing my board every day, and you appear bragging that you got $900 in food stamps. [SPEAKER_01]: And you got $100 rent for my mortgages over $12 a month. [SPEAKER_01]: And you got a full medical benefits. [SPEAKER_01]: And UA worked the 17 years. [SPEAKER_01]: Bruh, you need to be got. [SPEAKER_01]: And they are. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the first of the day, one after. [SPEAKER_01]: Those kind of folks, they need to get. [SPEAKER_01]: But the administration is trying to get people that's on that opposite side.
21:48 [SPEAKER_01]: The child that doesn't get to eat unless they go to school. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about your state, but here every year they give SNAP benefits [SPEAKER_01]: They get a card in the mail about a month after school is out and they put $100 on it and they say this is for the child so that they can eat because they have noticed that some children don't eat anything. [SPEAKER_01]: unless they go to school is the only time to get a breakfast in a lunch and they may not get dinner. [SPEAKER_01]: So no matter what your threshold is, no matter how much money you make every year without feel when summer kicks in, that car shows a bit of my mailbox.
22:32 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's for the sole purpose to make sure that the child that is enrolled in school eats. [SPEAKER_01]: To do you feel confident in the current [SPEAKER_01]: about the things that's being done. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think it's necessary to rebuild a White House? [SPEAKER_01]: necessary to have gold all over the place. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a John F. Kennedy Center really need to be torn down when it was perfectly fine before. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the promises that was made to you. [SPEAKER_01]: Have they been fulfilled? [SPEAKER_01]: Let me say I could think of a couple that I know that was promised.
23:16 [SPEAKER_01]: I'll just give you guys those through the sit-off. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I wanted to ask you this question where we have with those three promises. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, when it comes to lower gas, we've already discussed that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's not existed. [SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to lower food, well, we've discussed that too. [SPEAKER_00]: Food is on an all-time high. [SPEAKER_01]: And when it comes to no wars, [SPEAKER_01]: What are we in right now? [SPEAKER_01]: It's a war that we didn't even ask for or want. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a war we should not even be in. [SPEAKER_01]: It is a war that was not even called by the people constitutionally that can cause this war.
23:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Where do we sit as Americans? [SPEAKER_01]: Do we sit up under threat? [SPEAKER_01]: Is there retaliation going to happen? [SPEAKER_01]: Are we going to lose a lot of people because the people we have the war guess is going to come after us next? [SPEAKER_01]: These are the things I think we need to think about before you walk into that voting booth on Tuesday, November 3rd. [SPEAKER_01]: In any of the questions I asked you is no. [SPEAKER_01]: You haven't seen no changes. [SPEAKER_01]: You've seen things get worse. [SPEAKER_01]: It's harder for you to eat. [SPEAKER_01]: It's harder for you to find a job. [SPEAKER_01]: None of the promises you saw or heard about has come to fruition.
24:43 [SPEAKER_01]: If you can answer that no to a majority of those questions, that these things has not happened, then I'm going to employ you that you need to make a change when you walk into the voting booth. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to remind you again, this has nothing to do with party at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: You need to take party and throw it off the window. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't have to do if you are Republican and you've been a life long Republican and that's all you've ever voted. [SPEAKER_01]: has none to do with if you are Democrat you've been a lifelong Democrat and that's all you ever voted again this has to do with the one race that matters the human race if you care about your fellow man regardless of religion regardless of creed regardless of color if you care about [SPEAKER_01]: and the vote that you make on Tuesday has none to do with anything else but that.
25:46 [SPEAKER_01]: How can we make life easier for us? [SPEAKER_01]: How can we make getting food easier for us? [SPEAKER_01]: How can we make sure that the elderly people in the sick and the dying that needs to help that they need to get? [SPEAKER_01]: How can we help get that here? [SPEAKER_01]: How can we make sure that we don't have another round of people end up dying from COVID or any other disease? [SPEAKER_01]: Because we now have no agency to tell us what the heck's going on. [SPEAKER_01]: If that's where you are. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to employ you to vote against the current administration going in. [SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that everybody in the world can't be trusted.
26:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Heck, I voted Democratic my whole life. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't trust all them either. [SPEAKER_01]: So before people come and say, well, every politician is lying. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, man, I'm sure they all do. [SPEAKER_01]: I told you, I felt like Barack Obama is the best president ever. [SPEAKER_01]: Walked, garage, green, earth. [SPEAKER_01]: However, I'm going to tell you that there's some things that Barack Obama did also that David didn't agree with. [SPEAKER_01]: So it isn't about having to agree with the person who put it off his all the time, but it's about, is that person standing up to what that person promised you would happen? [SPEAKER_01]: We need to vote for change. [SPEAKER_01]: We're all complaining now, even people that voted Donald Trump in office is complaining that the world is horrible in this harsh and we need change here's your chance.
27:12 [SPEAKER_01]: We waited two years to get here and you've seen what the last two years has brought and we still got to deal with another two years. [SPEAKER_01]: It is time to apply the breaks. [SPEAKER_01]: even though you may not be able to stop everything that's happening, but with there are breaks and checks and balances in place, that's going to hold the president responsible. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what we need to do. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'll say this because I can hear some people saying this in the background, and I've heard this also for the last two years. [SPEAKER_01]: People's come up and say, well, the Democrats ain't [SPEAKER_01]: How come they ain't doing nothing they talk about the Republicans ain't doing nothing in the Congress.
27:57 [SPEAKER_01]: How come they ain't okay? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you don't understand how that works, they can't. [SPEAKER_01]: When they don't have any part in the Senate or the House, when the majority is ruled by the other party, no matter what you say is going to be vetoed is done. [SPEAKER_01]: You have no confidence in the president. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think Congress has to put that forward. [SPEAKER_01]: And if they put that out and say, we don't have no confidence that this president could do his job anymore, they can remove the president. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't find one Republican in the Senate or the House, that's going to do that. [SPEAKER_01]: Because they've let the president do whatever he's wanted to do for two years, including putting us in a war that we should not be in.
28:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Because if you don't know this, the president of the one that declares war is Congress. [SPEAKER_01]: But when you have a Congress that is not going to do their job, that's underneath the president and anything that he wants to do gets done, there is no checks, no balances. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's free to do whatever he wants to do. [SPEAKER_01]: And that is what's going on. [SPEAKER_01]: So again, if you are not happy with this current situation, if you want a change, [SPEAKER_01]: If you're the ones who want to say is that the Democrats ain't doing nothing, then here's your chance to put those people in office, and then they too can be a buttoner scrutiny if they don't do their job.
29:30 [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't believe that's gonna happen. [SPEAKER_01]: I believe the house on the Senate changes. [SPEAKER_01]: And it is not up under Republican rule anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see a whole lot of changes. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see a lot of wine in the crying, probably a whole lot of lawsuits, but you're going to see some changes. [SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be some breaks. [SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be some checks. [SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be some balances. [SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully, see things get better. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, this is not about party anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: This has to be about. [SPEAKER_01]: the human rights, human spirits, and what we all deserve as human beings and Americans. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, when there's administration is over and things go back hopefully to somewhat normal, because I think it's going to be a long time for that happens, I think you can go back to your respective parties, put the gloves on, come out fighting.
30:22 [SPEAKER_01]: But this over and be third, if you want to survive, it can't be about that. [SPEAKER_01]: So do it with all the favor. [SPEAKER_01]: Tuesday, November 3rd, if you haven't already done your early voting ballot and milled it in. [SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't yet set down with the people in your house that vote, we do every year. [SPEAKER_01]: We sit down and go through all of the things that surround against. [SPEAKER_01]: We have a lot of props here in California that people's putting up and we have to read through all of those [SPEAKER_01]: go through that stuff and Tuesday, the third of November, go into the voting booth and not vote for your party, but vote for change.
31:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Vote the people in that you feel like is going to make America better than what it is right now. [SPEAKER_01]: Vote for the people that you feel [SPEAKER_01]: to get through the next two years and maybe open up some jobs and maybe get some more people off of SNAP benefits because they can go back to work at a ways that we can all live depending on the state in which you live in. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all I ask you guys to do. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you do Tuesday, November 3rd, please go vote.
